So I have actually finished a Draw Along entry. draw-along.deviantart.com/
This months reference was from anastasiya-landa.deviantart.co… with the image anastasiya-landa.deviantart.co…
I decided to not just do a copy of the photo the minute I saw it, for two reasons. 1) I am still learning when it comes to portraits 2) I wanted it to be identifiable as my own work, not just a copy.
I drew the girl in my new Faber-Castell pencils. I am still learning to get the best results from them and thus am not completely happy with the end result. However am pleased with the progress I am making. I did the background in acrylic paint.
I am sorry for the image of the piece, using gold paint may look good but it doesnt photograph well.

Can I say how much I love that you didn't just copy the reference! The colors and the shapes in this are lovely, and I think you did a great job on the girl! Nicely done!
